I am reading "No Country for Old Men" and I have enjoyed it thus far. I loved this book, and I hope you read books from this author. This is my first post on here, because I really needed to share this. Genre of book: Western/horror (I would say) I know about the border trilogy, and I plan to read it in the future as well, but the two I listed are my main priorities. I am planning to read more of his books, such as "No Country for Old Men" and "The Road" which I have heard a lot about. I loved this book so much! Cormac McCarthy has changed the way I write, and my journey towards being an author myself is going to be heavily influenced by the man. ![]() Pros: Best villain I have seen in literature, is written beautifully, is a powerful story all around, is very complex, is iconic in multiple senses.Ĭons: Uses a specific word that I am not allowed to say, said word involves color. (read wearily, it is the most violent book I have read) I am legitimately a different person coming out of the book. I just read "Blood Meridian" by Cormac McCarthy, and it has changed the way I write. ![]()
